What is Access to Work?

Access to Work (AtW) is a government fund that is available for disabled people in employment within the UK. The funds may be used to pay towards a support worker or any equipment that you may need whilst at work. It can also pay towards the cost of getting to work if you cannot use public transport.

If you need a Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) at job interviews, then Access to Work may be able to cover some or even all of the costs that this will incur.

Who can get AtW?

You may be eligible for AtW funding if you're:
  • in a paid job
  • unemployed and about to start a job
  • unemployed and about to start a Work Trial
  • self-employed
  • a young person starting an apprenticeship
